Where the names were not burned along the wall
Saw a building, high as heaven
But the door was so small, door was so small
I saw rainclouds, little babies
And a bridge that had tumbled to the ground
I saw sinners making music
And I've dreamt of that sound, dreamt of that sound "
Iron and Wine - "Walking Far From Home"
I've let this blog sit idle for over six years, and honestly I didn't know how much longer it would be before I had a chance to complete it. Until yesterday...when it dawned on me that I have *just* enough vacation time left to walk to Santiago if I started in Astorga. Co-incidentally, Astorga was the exact city where my last camino ended. Or at least where the walking bit ended.
Now, after a flurry of online activity to book travel and accommodations, it's actually going to happen. On September 2, I'll be walking out of Astorga to complete the last 271 kilometers of my second camino.
Lots of preparation to do between now and then....but I'm already much happier than usual, knowing that it's just around the corner.
